Farewell to CUTLASS
Drax Power Limited bid a final farewell to its CUTLASS plant operating system on Thursday 3 April at an official turn off event in the station’s control room. CUTLASS is being replaced in favour of the modern APMS (Advanced Plant Management System), changing the operation of the power station from the touch of a button to the click of a mouse.

Morrisons in Selby became the venue for an exclusive art exhibition for two weeks in January and February this year.
Drax apprentice crowned
James Kernaghan was crowned Empower Apprentice of the Year 2007 at a glittering ceremony which took place in early November at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham.
Award ceremony for artist stars
Drax Power Limited’s first ever Art In The Community competition revealed a high level of artistic talent from a number of local schools. The twelve winners from four age categories were invited to a specially organised awards ceremony in December, which took place in the newly refurbished restaurant at Drax.
Cricketing glory for under 13s team
Amateur young cricketers achieve glory at The Lady Taverners cricket competition. The under 13 girl’s team from Holy Family Catholic High School, Carlton triumphed in the one day league, the highest level of competition for this age group, which was played at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium.
The new Drax Visitor Centre
The new Drax Visitor Centre was officially opened by the Minister of State for Energy, Malcolm Wicks MP on 29 October 2007.
Charity golf day benefits The Yorkshire Air Ambulance
At its first ever charity golf day, Drax Power Limited raised £1,900 for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
