Drax aims to give all their employees a comprehensive range of benefits. All employees are encouraged to join the Drax pension scheme, and receive BUPA healthcare cover. Drax also currently operates a Saving - Related Share Option Plan,whereby eligible employees may enter a contract to save up to £250 per month for a period of three or five years and hold an option over Drax shares. Interest, by way of a “bonus”, is added to the savings at the end of the savings period. The option price of the shares is set at the start and, under the rules of the plan, can be discounted to the then market price by up to 20%. The option can be exercised at the end of the chosen three or five year period using the accumulated savings and bonus.
Due to the contracts Drax has with various local companies, employees at Drax are entitled to various benefits, including discounted membership at the Drax sports and social club, and access to childcare vouchers and other discounts.
