Mac Wordsworth

Joined Drax in 1987

The industry has been good to me and to be honest I’ve not looked back since joining the power station all those years ago.

Mac works in the facilities department and during any typical week you would be likely to see him driving Drax’s 7.5 tonne truck to various locations in the country laden with anything from mill rams to bearings. Or, when not driving the truck, you could find Mac behind the wheel of the power station’s people carrier transferring some of the many business visitors we have to Drax, such as journalists and Members of Parliament, or even transporting school parties around site in the Drax coach. It is also not unheard of for Mac to help out at the wheel of a fork lift truck if the need arises.

Aside from the driving responsibilities, Mac must ensure that the fleet of vehicles under the facilities department’s care are well looked after, maintained and serviced, ensuring their availability for use by others at the power station.

Mac’s training and experience has continued to develop since joining Drax. He has obtained his PSV class 1, HIAB and fork lift truck licences, to add to his HGV class 1 licence he held when he started the job.
