Andrew Brade

Joined Drax in 2005

For an engineer, Drax is full of opportunities. The scope is almost limitless.

As a Project Engineer, Andrew specifically investigates the engineering design for the increasing proportion of biomass burned at Drax.

Drax is always looking to the future and is very conscious of looking at ways in which to reduce CO2 emissions. The research and development area of the Drax business is investigating biomass sources that can be burned instead of coal.

Andrew is currently the project engineer for the £18m project to construct a biomass rail unloading and storage system, which will allow trainloads of biomass fuel to be discharged and stored prior to burning.
